JBP provided support to the Brunel 200th anniversary activity in Bristol last year and proposed a special event at the House of Lords to bring together the Brunel 200 stakeholders, key influencers and leaders in the Bristol area and parliamentarians.
JBP arranged a major lunch in the Lords for over 100 people hosted by Rt Hon Lord Cope of Berkeley, Opposition Chief Whip.
Sponsors were found by JBP to support the entire costs of the event.
As a result of the parliamentary support for that event, Jennifer Bryant-Pearson proposed a new parliamentary group to support young engineers and promote the role of engineering in the UK.
The All Party Parliamentary Engineering and Information Technology Group has since been formed under the Chairmanship of Lord Broers and now has a strong membership from all political parties and from both the Commons and Lords.
