The Bristol battery Recycling campaign was a pilot scheme run by Bristol City Council and the Department for Trade and Industry aimed at establishing whether a city-wide battery recycling scheme was viable in the UK. Nearly 12 tonnes of batteries were collected during the course of the pilot, beating targets by 20%. JBP consultant Katy Baker won a Public Relations Consultants Association ‘Frontline’ Award for ‘Best Environmental Campaign’ for the project, which formed part of Bristol’s wider ‘Sustainable City’ agenda.
